With Christmas being just three weeks away [what now?!] present shopping is high on the priority list and as easy as it is to head to Amazon or John Lewis, we'd like to remind you that tomorrow is #SmallBusinessSaturday - a day to support all of the small businesses in the UK.
Being a small business ourselves we understand the importance of being seen and feeling loved, so we've decided to share our favourite small businesses with you - in the hope that you'll share some love with them too!
Cheeky Zebra Greeting Cards
Oh how we just love this card shop! Run by Sasha [and sometimes her Nan] Cheeky Zebra produce fun and naughty cards for all occasions. Sasha is also super funny on her instagram account, so she's worth a follow just for that.
MINI AND MOI
Online boutique selling unique and stylish products for parent and baby, all lovingly selected by founder Kayley. Having worked in fashion for over 19 years, Kayley's priorities changed after giving birth - she wanted to continue doing what she loved but without jeopardising the time she had with her baby boy. Mini and Moi was born and we love it, she also happens to stock our Mum Boss planner!
SEVENSEVENTEEN
SevenSeventeen was set up by friends Naomi & Sarah, two working mums with five small children between them [a bit like us!]. The idea behind the name is that you bundle the children into bed at 7.17pm, pour a glass of wine, light up a candle and unwind. These beautiful scented candles use clean-burning soy wax, natural cotton wicks [for longer burning time] and a mix of high quality fragrance and essential oils. They look as good as they smell too!
CULT OF YOUTH
CULT OF YOUTH was founded in 2011 by silversmith and designer, Kelly Seymour. Forged and blasted in the chaos of a Hackney warehouse, the first collection, a gothic clash of weighted cross chokers and silken bound bones, launched at London Fashion Weekend to noted acclaim.
After the birth of her son, Elvis, Kelly launched the signature MAMA CHAIN, a chain that has been seen all over the world and worn by many celebrities - the chain you'll often see Jodie wearing too! Kelly is very present on her instagram account, often being brutally honest about the ups and downs of raising a child as a single mother whilst working and living in London. She's awesome, her brand is awesome and we'd love to own all of her pieces! Oh, and she writes poetry too...
